Rosemarie Poiarkov, born in 1974 in Baden near Vienna, studied Philosophy, German Studies, and Political Science in Vienna, and spent a semester in St.\u202fPetersburg, Russia.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Her debut, the short story collection Eine\u202fCD\u202flang.\u202f Liebesgeschichten<\/em>\u202f (As Long as a\u202fCD.\u202fLove\u202fStories)<\/em><\/a>, was published by\u202fZsolnay<\/a> in 2001, and she spent three months at the Literarisches\u202fColloquium\u202fBerlin\u202f(LCB)<\/a> as a fellow.<\/p>

Upon returning to\u202fVienna, she contributed as a guest author to the online platform Die\u202fFlut<\/em>\u202f (The\u202fFlood)<\/em>, founded by\u202fXaver\u202fBayer, and began her work for the theater with her first play k\u00fcchenliegen<\/em>\u202f<\/a> (Lying in the Kitchen)\u00a0<\/em> (dir.\u202fPaola\u202fAguilera,\u202fDrama\u202fX,\u202fVienna\u202f2004; \u202fpublished\u202f2008). She gained experience as an assistant director and dramaturgical assistant and collaborated on projects with the theater group theaterprocedere<\/em>, which she helped establish and remained part of until the group disbanded in 2007.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

In\u202f2007, her second book, the short novel Wer,\u202fwenn\u202fnicht\u202f wir?<\/em>\u202f (Who\u202fIf\u202fNot\u202fUs?)<\/em><\/a>, was published by Czernin<\/a>.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

In\u202f2008, together with\u202fLena\u202fWicke\u2011Aengenheyster<\/a>, she directed the performance\u00a0Matti\u202f\u2013\u202fRunter\u202fkommen\u202falle <\/em>\u202f(Matti\u2014Everyone\u202fComes\u202fDown) <\/em>(at brut\u202fWien<\/a>), based on her own text. A revised version was later adapted for radio and broadcast in 2010 on \u00d61 as the radio play Matti, spring!<\/em> (Matti, Jump!<\/em>)<\/a> (dir. Nikolaus Scholz).<\/p>

Since then, Poiarkov has worked as an author and dramaturg on numerous stage productions, including collaborations with Polish director and choreographer \u202fCezary\u202fTomaszewski<\/a> and the performer\u202fSabine\u202fMarte<\/a>.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

With\u00a0Made\u202fin\u202fAustria<\/em><\/a>\u202f (brut\u202fWien\u202f\/\u202fWiener\u202fFestwochen<\/a>,\u202f2012)\u2014a co-production staged in the Vienna Danube Tower\u2014her ongoing collaboration with performance artist\u202fOleg\u202fSoulimenko<\/a>\u202fbegan. She continues to contribute text and dramaturgy to many of his projects, including radio plays for\u202fKunstradio\u202f\u00d61<\/a>.<\/p>

In\u202f2015, her children\u2019s book Jakob\u202fund\u202fIngxenje<\/em>\u202f (Jakob\u202fand\u202fIngxenje)<\/em><\/a>, illustrated by\u202fMichaela\u202fWeiss<\/a>, was published by\u202fBibliothek\u202fder\u202fProvinz<\/a>.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

In\u202fFebruary\u202f2017, her first novel\u00a0Aussichten\u202fsind\u202f\u00fcbersch\u00e4tzt<\/em>\u202f (Overrated Views)<\/em>\u202f<\/a>was released by\u202fResidenz<\/a>.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

After completing her training as a\u202ftheater\u202feducator at\u202fIFANT Vienna<\/a> in\u202f2016,\u202fPoiarkov\u202fbegan teaching writing and theater workshops and leading cultural outreach projects, often collaborating with\u202fBirte\u202fBrudermann<\/a>.<\/p>

In\u202fJune\u202f2023, her young adult novel\u00a0Rote\u202fZitronen<\/em>\u202f (Red\u202fLemons)<\/em><\/a>, illustrated by\u202fSusie\u202fFlowers<\/a>, was published by\u202ffabrik.transit<\/a>.<\/p>
